The company was founded by Mike Adkins in 1980 and he still runs the company to this day. From the first, his goal was to build the very finest narrowboats possible with all production in house - so every boat built is a 'Stokeboat' from its base plate to final brush stroke.

During the years Mike has built up a team of committed craftsmen.

Continuity is the cornerstone of the business and the 6 members of the construction team have between them given 95 years of loyal service to the company.
